    Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Alex has been dancing for over a decade. He moved to Austin in 2022 and returned to dance in 2023 teaching and performing in the community and is going into his first full year teaching here at Evenground.

  • Allison Li

    Allison started dancing in college with K-pop and discovered a deeper love for movement through Project A. Her choreography journey began two years ago and expanded as she co-created Evenground's training team, Fundies, co-directed its first season, and now serves as a director for Project A. Drawn to fast, intuitive movement, she continually searches to expand her palette while finding joy in simply enjoying the music.

  • Caro González

    Caro's intermediate/advanced choreography class blends new-style hip-hop with influences from reggaeton and jazz funk, offering a dynamic approach to movement. The teaching style emphasizes clean execution, performance, and encouraging dancers to bring their own unique style. Dancers can expect a high-energy environment that fosters creativity and connection through musicality.

  • Chris Han

    As the founder of Evenground, Chris brings nearly a decade of experience in teaching, choreographing, and directing teams such as Project A, which have performed and placed in World of Dance and other competitions across Texas. With extensive training in choreography, as well as house and hip-hop foundations, Chris has refined his skills under the mentorship of renowned dancers like Chris Martin, Larkin Poynton, Sorah Yang, Tony Ray, and others.

    Chris creates a fun, social environment in his classes where students feel supported by their peers. You can expect to break a sweat, be challenged in a positive way, and leave each class feeling accomplished.

  • Clarence Angelo

    Clarence Angelo is a dancer and social media creator represented by Shine Talent Group. Raised in San Francisco and Austin, TX, Clarence currently competes and teaches around the US. With recent credits including ACL Music Festival and World of Dance Houston Champion, he continues to compete, perform, and train internationally.

  • Daniel Broxton

    Daniel is an Austin, Texas native who has been dancing since he was 8 years old. He has been teaching for over a decade in the Austin dance community and aims to bring more opportunities for artists and dancers in the city. As a teacher, he strives to make student experiences fun, educational, and an opportunity for growth in every class.

  • David Dinh

    David/TroubleLock picked up Campbellocking off of YouTube originally in 2005 and travelled to find his teachers in 2009. He’s been a part of different dance teams in another lifetime, is active in the Street Dance scene and has been sharing Campbellocking in the Austin community through BoogieDownFamily since 2012. Joining the Evenground teacher roster in 2023, he’s excited to help anyone fall in love with the art form that’s done so much for him.

  • Dorothy Nie

    Based in Austin, Dorothy is a director, choreographer, and teacher. She's directed teams such as Redefined Dance Company (RDC) and Project A, and is currently leading Fine Lines, Evenground’s adult creative team. She describes her style as powerful and honest, using full body movement as a means to authentically express herself. Her classes focus on using textures, finding fluidity in your own movement, and making intentional choices.

  • Eliana Mejíar

    Eliana began training in classical dance styles in her hometown Torreón, Mexico. After moving to the US, she expanded her training to street-style based choreography and freestyle. She began Whacking in 2020 and continues to train under W*ackers such as Viktor Manoel, Wizzard, and Jewels. Eli hopes to expose and introduce dancers to Punking and Whacking while pushing them to explore their individual movement. She also loves to go out and dance and will never say ‘no’ to bringing dance back to the club!

  • Ellie Dougherty

    Ellie grew up in Houston, TX, where she spent over 13 years training and competing in ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance in a studio setting. In high school, she joined Wonderbox, a K-pop team that sparked her passion for exploring dance styles beyond her classical background. During college, Ellie explored K-pop and street dance by joining teams like ATXKDC, RDC, and UT FSA Modern, even having the opportunity to compete at World of Dance twice. Since becoming an instructor at Evenground in October, Ellie has been deeply grateful for the opportunity to grow alongside her students. She is dedicated to creating a welcoming and fun environment where dancers of all levels can thrive.

  • Gabrielle Ponthier

    Gabby began dancing at the age of two, training in styles such as classical ballet, pointe, jazz, and contemporary. At 11, she trained for a summer with the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City on a full scholarship and later gained recognition at Youth America Grand Prix. She went on to assist conventions like The Streetz and Celebrity Dance for many years, traveling across North America and working with industry professionals like Jim Nowakowski, Alexa Moffett, and Cat Cogliandro. Before moving to Austin, Gabby taught extensively in Dallas, sharing her knowledge and love for dance. Now completing her Biomedical Engineering degree at UT Austin, Gabby is president of Texas Ballet and is excited to continue teaching contemporary at Evenground!

  • Giuliana Velez

    Giuliana Velez is a B.F.A. in Dance major at The University of Texas at Austin. Originally from Houston, Texas, she has trained in a number of dance styles such as hip hop, house, & contemporary and pulls from multiple perspectives in her artistry. Recent credits include her original choreographed piece Interconnection, performed at the American College Dance Association South-Central Regional Conference (2023) and Cyphers (Texas Theatre and Dance, 2024).

  • Grace Zhang

    Grace’s dance journey began when she joined her university's K-pop dance team, where she quickly developed a love for dancing. After relocating to Austin, she delved into different dance styles, training and performing with Fundies, Fine Lines, and Project A. Continuing her love for K-pop, Grace helped create Resurge, a K-pop dance team in Austin, where she both leads and performs in dance covers, and joined Evenground as a K-pop instructor in July 2024.

  • Haley Sikes

    Haley Sikes is a dancer, performer, choreographer, and teacher based out of the Austin area. She started dancing at the age of three, training in many different styles, with a focus on hip hop. Haley has been teaching dance since 2016 to youth and adult audiences. Her resume includes working for Prestige Dance Convention, choreographing for many dance crews all over Texas, and being a background dancer for local artists. Haley is the director of award winning dance crews, UGK at Balance Dance Studios and FUSE Crew at The Dance Spot. She has a fresh new view that she uses to spark creativity among young artists.

    In Jason's beginner classes, you will be focusing on foundational movement to help grow your dancing. These movements are from street and club styles to help give you a well rounded growth. Every class has some form of a focus with these movements that will be worked prior to learning the combo and then implemented into the choreo itself.

  • Jay Rangan

    Jay grew up dancing in Abu Dhabi, but had started training in dance when he moved to India in 2016, where he learned street styles such as House, Hip-hop, Locking, Popping and Breaking and in parallel, worked on his passion for choreography as well. He continued his dance journey in Austin by performing and training alongside Project A since Spring 2024. He joined Evenground as a teacher in Jul 2024 and is thankful for the opportunity to create and teach in this community!

  • Jess Ye

    Jess has danced for 8+ years with a background in ballet, jazz, and contemporary. She discovered street style her sophomore year at UT, and she feels that she really fell in love with dance again when she went to study abroad in Singapore and trained with the community there. Since then, she’s choreographed and taught for Redefined Dance Company and ATX The Space. She’s also danced for Project A, Fine Lines, and Barkada. She sees herself as a lifelong artist and student and is deeply grateful to share these spaces with you!

  • Jonas Vezia

    A native of northern California but a child of the south. Jonas has built a home in Austin over the last two decades. Jonas has danced professionally across the states. He grew up training in Polynesian dancing and eventually started training in studio, street and club styles. His beginning as a musician and years on stage have influenced every step of his creative journey. Jonas’ style is an amalgamation of all the above. Although Jonas has been blessed to work with Brian Friedman, MTV, Old Navy, and roller skating around as an extra for a Beyonce video, his heart is where his community is; sharing the gifts he’s been given. He has given back by teaching to various companies, studios, dance teams and schools in the greater Austin area. Yet, nothing brings him more fulfillment than seeing people become better versions of themselves.

  • Kelly Chiu

    Kelly grew up dancing in Houston, where she learned styles such as ballet, jazz, and contemporary. She continued her dance journey and training in Austin, developing a passion for choreography and freestyling. She has performed and trained with various teams such as Redefined Dance Company, UT Barkada, Project A, and Galing. She joined Evenground as a teacher in February 2024 and is thankful for the opportunity to co-direct Fundies!

  • Krishna Basude

    Krishna Basude started dancing as a toddler, grooving to Bollywood songs in his diapers. In 2008, he joined the Mona Khan Company’s professional young adults group, where he trained in jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, and fusion styles. He performed in notable acts, including America’s Got Talent and an inaugural ball for President Obama, and briefly trained with Mission Dance Academy’s senior competitive hip-hop group.In 2014, Krishna became the male lead for Lashkara at UC Davis, performing for three years. Afterward, he trained for two years with Chapkis Dance, learning from renowned choreographers like Greg Chapkis, Kida the Great, and Melvin TimTim.Krishna now focuses on developing his foundation in house and freestyle while performing with Project A, Evenground’s competitive team.

  • Lucy Wang

    Lucy Wang started training in street styles in 2018 and has earned numerous accolades competing with UT FSA Modern, Redefined Dance Company, and Project A. Since then, she co-founded Fundies, Evenground's adult exhibition training team, in Spring 2024 in an effort to build the Austin dance community. As a regular instructor at Evenground Dance Studio, Lucy is dedicated to supporting students by providing resources to anyone looking to grow their movement. Her choreography is influenced by styles like house, hip hop, afro, dancehall, and vogue femme, and her biggest inspirations are Diana Matos, Selene Haro, Todd Williamson, Pauline Casino, Marlee Hightower, and Aaron Quini.

  • Nancy Lo

    Nancy grew up with a love of dance since she was young, watching dance crews and K-pop performances on TV. She has performed and trained through various teams including ATXKDC, UT Barkada, Redefined Dance Company, and Project A, which grew her love of choreography. Her classes at Evenground focus on movement and expression that resonate with feminine energy, while looking to help students find their own joy in dancing.

  • Nora Li

    Nora is a senior at the University of Texas at Austin, where she was introduced to hip hop and street styles through dance teams such as Redefined Dance Company, UT Barkada, and Project A. Prior to college, she trained predominantly in contemporary dance among various other styles. Currently, Nora is exploring her own movement in freestyle, learning how to be a b-girl, and teaching dance classes at the Austin State Hospital. Her beginner classes at Evenground focus on grooves and body awareness and she strives to help students find connection and joy through movement.

  • Prince Imo

    Performer, choreographer /director, Prince Imo, currently resides in Austin Texas, educating and training to becoming a better version of himself and other dancers around him. He is the founder of Bisscuitheads ( a Streetwear brand that emphasizes the importance of being a good person on and off the dance floor ) and bisscuitheadscrew ( an adult competitive dance team here in Austin ). From his adult int/adv classes at Evenground dance studio and youth beginner up to advanced classes at Muv Dance and Fitness, Prince’s classes are rooted in the importance of hip hop fundamentals.

  • Santana Williams

    Santana grew up in Houston, having little to no knowledge about dance. He began his dance journey once he moved to Austin for college through k-pop. Since then he has joined various k-pop dance teams like atxkdc and kma to find community with others who also enjoy k-pop. He also joined utbarkada which allowed for him to expand and further his relationship with dance. He joined Evenground as a teacher in October 2024 and is grateful for the community it has brought him.

    Born and raised in Austin, Son is an instructor, choreographer, and currently co-director of Project A. He has been dancing for 9 years, won multiple awards, and facilitated many events for the community. Receiving knowledge from renowned dancers like Tyler Singletary, Ruthie Fantaye, Le’Don, T-Soup, and Brian Parish, Son considers himself a student and practitioner of Hip-Hop. He emphasizes the importance of having fun and building social connections in his classes.
